Sustainability in Action: the commitment of SAVIO
We believe that our commitment should go beyond researching and producing effective and compliant therapeutic solutions: we are an active part of the area in which we operate, working to improve people’s quality of life and reduce the impact of our activities.
A commitment maintained even during the pandemic, when the SAVIO Group increased in-house production of a drug included among the treatment options for patients with COVID-19 to ensure its necessary supply and donated together with FAB13 (Italian-capital pharmaceutical industries that are members of Farmindustria), more than 3 million euros in goods and financial resources to the “Together without Fear” fundraiser promoted by the FIMMG Federazione Italiana Medici di Medicina Generale (Italian Federation of General Practitioners) with Cittadinanza Attiva for the protection of primary care physicians.
Our Social Responsibility to this day translates into concrete actions for community welfare, environmental protection, and support for public health.
Through collaborations with local governments, educational institutions, universities and nonprofit associations, we work every day to generate shared value and contribute to the sustainable development of our territory.
Some of the initiatives to which we have contributed
Pavia, Positive Impact City
Together with PMG ITALIA Società Benefit, we support the ‘Pavia Città a Impatto Positivo’ (Pavia, a City with a Positive Impact) project, which aims to raise the level of sustainability in various areas of the city that is home to one of our production plants.
Thanks to this project, SAVIO has contributed to the planting of the Sicurani park in Pavia Ovest, the donation of a vehicle for disabled people to the Italian Union for the Fight against Muscular Dystrophy (UILDM), and the promotion of a culture of sustainability among students at various schools in Pavia.
Italian Association Fighting Neuroblastoma
We have been collaborating for several years with the Italian Association for the Fight against Neuroblastoma O.N.L.U.S. established to defeat Neuroblastoma and Pediatric Solid Tumors. Neuroblastoma is a tumor that originates from neuroblasts, cells found in the sympathetic nervous system, and mostly affects children from 0 to 10 years of age.
Each year we support Christmas and Easter campaigns to fund basic research committed to understanding the disease and finding new treatments, opening the doors of our production facility and contributing directly and together with colleagues to solidarity purchases.
Free Mammography and Ultrasound ScansWelfareCare - Benefit Corporation
Prevention is one of our value drivers. For this reason, we have supported the ‘Free Mammography and Ultrasound’ event for the second time, dedicated to breast cancer prevention and promoted by WelfareCare – Società Benefit in various Italian regions. In particular, we were the Main Partner of the latest initiative, held on 13 June in Pomezia, where our Head Office is located.
Thanks to this initiative, which received the patronage of the Municipality of Pomezia and the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, women in the area were offered the opportunity to undergo free screening, making a concrete contribution to promoting a culture of prevention and healthcare.
Higher Technical Institute ITS Pharma Academy
Since its inception in 2019, we have believed in the ITS Pharma Academy Foundation and its commitment to creating, in agreement with Farmindustria, experimental training projects aimed at reducing the skills mismatch.
On 19 July 2023, the Pharma Academy campus was inaugurated in Rome, offering students classrooms, laboratories, accommodation and recreational facilities to increase student interest in a STEM sector with high social value.
The SAVIO Group regularly collaborates with the Pharma Academy campus, delivering lectures to the facility, which promotes the culture of youth/business matching and boasts a 100 percent placement rate.
In dealing with health, we have always been oriented to integrate social and environmental concerns within our business. We are an Italian company with a strong sense of attachment to our history and we feel it is our duty to give back, through concrete gestures, a part of the value we generate to the territory that hosts us.
